With just under two weeks to go until Election Day, the Trump campaign has shifted into full gear, hammering home its core message: “Kamala Harris broke it, and Donald Trump will fix it.”
In a conversation with Fox News Digital, Trump campaign officials laid out their closing strategy, focusing on two key issues they say Harris has completely botched—the economy and the southern border. According to senior advisor Tim Murtaugh, “the beauty of this election cycle is that everybody who is going to vote has lived through the Trump years and the Harris years.” Translation: Voters have seen the difference, and they know which side was better.
The Trump team isn’t pulling any punches, highlighting how Harris’s leadership has supposedly led to a collapsed economy, skyrocketing inflation, and total chaos at the border. “By contrast,” Murtaugh continued, “when Trump was president, the economy was fantastic, inflation was nonexistent, the border was secure, and the world was at peace.” While Harris spends her time attacking Trump, the Trump campaign is staying laser-focused on problems they say the Biden-Harris administration created—and solutions they say only Trump can provide.

Despite Harris’s accusations that Trump wants “unchecked power” and is “unhinged,” the Trump campaign is sticking to its playbook: optimism, momentum, and a clear plan. Trump, the campaign says, is offering real solutions while Harris is just playing defense. The most recent polls are starting to reflect that narrative, with Trump pulling ahead in key battleground states and narrowing the gap nationally.
The latest Wall Street Journal poll shows Trump leading Harris by 2 points among likely voters, and in states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, Democrat incumbents are trying to distance themselves from Harris as much as possible. Senator Bob Casey in Pennsylvania is even running ads touting how he “bucked Biden” and worked with Trump—ouch.
The Harris campaign, meanwhile, is pulling out its own star power in the form of Bruce Springsteen, Taylor Swift, and former President Obama to energize young voters oh and the ‘role model’ Eminem. Insert huge eye roll. But as Trump continues to draw massive crowds, like at his rally with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard, it seems like the enthusiasm gap may be a problem for Harris.

As Election Day approaches, Trump is in non-stop campaign mode, hitting key battleground states and rallying his base. Meanwhile, Harris is struggling to explain how she’ll do things differently while promising more of the same Biden-Harris agenda that isn’t winning over voters.
