Dr. Fauci proudly proclaimed that it “just makes common sense” to wear more than one mask when going out into public however, not long after his proclamation he admitted he doesn’t have any data to support his claim.
“So if you have a physical covering with one layer, you put another layer on, it just makes common sense that it likely would be more effective,” Fauci told TODAY. “That’s the reason why you see people either double masking or doing a version of an N95.”
During a question and answer session with the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) Fauci admitted that there is no data showing that wearing two layers of mask is more effective at mitigating the virus.
“There’s nothing wrong with that but there’s no data that indicates that it is going to make a difference,” Fauci said.
Fauci also said that vaccinated individuals should continue to wear a masks because they could still be carrying the coronavirus.
“Then you could inadvertently or innocently transmit the infection by not wearing a mask,” Fauci said, admitting that it seemed “paradoxical.”

What Fauci and others experts fail to discuss is the other 25 million of us (including myself) that has recovered from the coronavirus.
A recent study published in Science Magazine (one of the largest scientific journals in the world) has found that a person with covid antibodies is not at risk for an infection for at least a year and probably a lot longer.
“There was a lot of concern originally that this virus might not induce much memory,” says Shane Crotty, a researcher at the La Jolla Institute for Immunology in California and a coauthor of the new paper. “Instead, the immune memory looks quite good.”
The study was published on January 6th and it found that people who recover from COVID-19 have lasting immunity and the few that don’t a vaccination should offset the problem.
This also means that those who chose to receive the vaccine should may not need to ever get it again.
We haven’t heard Dr. Fauci discuss this yet, and some wonder if that’s because it would put pressure on officials to rethink their masks orders.
But that is not stopping Fauci from making mask claims that have no data to back them up and say it’s “common sense.”
