Holodnak, who served as treasurer for the Democratic Party organization representing Arizona’s Legislative District 12, stepped down after video footage circulated online showing him verbally attacking young women outside a protest scene in Phoenix.
The incident occurred outside a Zipps Sports Grill location, one of fourteen sites raided by federal authorities earlier in the week as part of an enforcement operation that drew demonstrators to the area. Video captured Holodnak standing among protesters before turning his attention toward several young girls who had posed for photographs with Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. As the girls attempted to leave, Holodnak followed them, repeatedly shouting obscenities that were clearly audible on the recording.

Social media users quickly identified Holodnak, and the footage spread rapidly, triggering widespread backlash. The Arizona Republic confirmed that shortly after the video went viral, Holodnak resigned from his position within the Legislative District 12 Democratic organization. In a statement to the newspaper, he acknowledged his conduct and issued an apology, saying he regretted how he expressed himself and insisting that the language used did not reflect his values or intentions. He added that he did not want his actions to detract from what he described as the work of the district organization, prompting his immediate resignation from its board.
