It’s almost like Kamala Harris is on a mission to prove just how out of touch the Biden administration can be. This weekend, the vice president took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce a $157 million aid package for—wait for it—Lebanon. Meanwhile, in North Carolina, the residents devastated by Hurricane Helene are struggling to put their lives back together. Homes are destroyed, power is out, and families are still sifting through the wreckage. And yet, somehow, Harris thought the timing was just perfect to prioritize sending millions overseas. You can’t make this stuff up.
Kamala Harris & the Biden Admin is giving an additional $157 million dollars to Lebanon, while people in the USA, specifically NC, TN, GA, VA, and FL suffer. This in on top of BILLIONS of tax dollars that have gone to other countries.

Actor James Woods wasn’t buying it. He took to X, calling out the absurdity of the situation in his own blunt style: “This has to be fake. Even Kamala Harris, the gold standard of stupid, isn’t stupid enough to post this. Certainly not while North Carolinians are pulling the bodies of their neighbors from the wreckage. It’s simply inconceivable.” But no, it wasn’t fake. Harris really did post this, and she really did think it was a great moment to focus on Lebanon’s “increasingly dire humanitarian situation.” Sure, there’s suffering in Lebanon, but how about taking care of the dire situation in your own country first?

Social media erupted with reactions that seemed to echo Woods’ disbelief. Congressman Nick Langworthy didn’t mince words either: “Could this be any more tone-deaf? We have Americans suffering and in danger right now after the hurricane, and this is what Kamala has to announce. America First!” He’s got a point—why is it so hard for this administration to remember that their primary responsibility is to the American people, especially when they’re in the middle of a crisis?
Kamala Harris gave $157 million in humanitarian aid to Lebanon!
Meanwhile, homeless, stranded, and starving Americans devastated by Helene are abandoned and left to fend for themselves, literally dying in the streets!

Even Texas Governor Greg Abbott couldn’t resist taking a swing, calling Harris’ post “Kamala’s Katrina,” a comparison to the bungled federal response to Hurricane Katrina that pretty much defined the term “political disaster.” And with Harris effectively telling storm-hit North Carolinians to sit tight while she sends millions to the Middle East, it’s not hard to see why the comparison struck a nerve.
Journalist Eric Daugherty took it a step further, calling the tone-deaf move a sign that Harris’ political fortunes are on the ropes: “To be clear – Kamala Harris’ campaign-suicidal post this evening focusing on LEBANON while major disaster rescues and recovery are underway is an admission she is losing Michigan right now.” When a politician starts looking more concerned about what’s happening thousands of miles away than in her own backyard, it’s no wonder people start questioning her political instincts.
And of course, former President Donald Trump weighed in on Truth Social, blasting the Biden administration’s response to Hurricane Helene as “the most incompetently managed ‘storm,’ at the federal level, ever seen before.” Trump isn’t exactly known for his subtlety, but it’s hard to disagree when families in North Carolina are getting meager aid while millions flow out the door to foreign countries.
The bottom line? This is yet another instance of the Biden administration’s bizarre priorities, where they seem more focused on winning approval from the global community than taking care of Americans facing a crisis. Sure, humanitarian aid is important, but so is helping your own citizens when they’ve lost everything to a devastating hurricane. The American people deserve a government that doesn’t treat them as an afterthought—especially when they’re the ones footing the bill.
