Biden’s DOJ Trying Some Jedi Mind Trick About Crime – Watch

The Biden team seems to be resorting to some kind of Jedi mind trick. The Department of Justice under President Joe Biden released new data this week that wasn’t good. But they had decided to brag about it so people will think just the opposite.

The report is about the number of federal arrests reaching the lowest point in two decades in 2021…not an achievement to be proud of.

The Federal Justice Statistics report shows “arrests by federal law enforcement agencies declined 35% from fiscal year (FY) 2020 to FY 2021, reaching the lowest level over the past two decades.”

The report tries to tie the low numbers to COVID pandemic restrictions. You may also remember that the left tried to use COVID as a reason to empty prisons and return more criminals to the streets before they finished their full sentences.

It was during President Trump’s time in office that he and Attorney General Bill Barr worked to crack down on crime during the pandemic. They launched Operation Legend in major U.S. cities, beginning with Kansas City in July 2020. This operation expanded to more cities like Chicago, Albuquerque, Cleveland, Detroit, Milwaukee, St. Louis, Memphis, and Indianapolis, to get violent criminals put away.

By the end of 2020, Attorney General Barr reported that “Operation Legend removed violent criminals, domestic abusers, carjackers and drug traffickers from nine cities which were experiencing stubbornly high crime and took illegal firearms, illegal narcotics and illicit monies off the streets. By most standards, many would consider these results as a resounding success—amid a global pandemic, the results are extraordinary.”

But Biden killed the program and now his team, with a Jedi wave of the hand, is boasting about having the lowest number of federal arrests in 20 years.

They are actually wearing being soft on crime as a badge of honor.
