Brandon Gill: Democrats See Rape Victims As Collateral Damage

A rideshare driver from Guinea, released by the Biden administration in 2023, is now charged with kidnapping and raping a teenage girl in Maryland. This brutal attack happened while the driver was still free to work and harm others.

Abdoulaye Dia entered the United States illegally at the Arizona border on December 21, 2023. The Department of Homeland Security confirmed he was released into the country by Border Patrol that same day. Dia was not deported despite being an illegal alien. He now faces charges for the horrific assault on an underage passenger during a ride in Silver Spring.

According to police, Dia drove the girl to a parking lot and committed rape within his vehicle. Authorities believe there are more victims from this pattern of abuse. Dia also has a prior record for sexually assaulting a minor in New York City earlier this year. He was arrested by the NYPD on June 10 for those crimes. Yet he was still driving for a rideshare company in Maryland.

Rep. Brandon Gill, R-Texas, is calling out Democratic leaders for their cold reaction to this news. He argues that Democrats view American victims as expendable for their political goals. Fox News reported that Gill claimed the charged victims are “nothing more than collateral damage in their long term project of using amnesty to build a permanent electoral majority”.

Gill predicts that the political left will ignore this tragedy completely. He stated, “the left will read this and feel absolutely nothing”. He added that they simply do not care about the safety of Americans. Gill’s words are harsh, but he insists they reflect the reality of the situation.

While this rape case unfolds, Democrats are criticizing an ICE officer in Austin who shot a different illegal immigrant. That driver, Wilber Rafael Garces Perez, had a final order of removal from the country. Rep. Greg Casar, D-Texas, called the enforcement a “war” and demanded ICE leave the city. This response contrasts sharply with the silence on the Maryland attack.

Even Maryland Governor Wes Moore, a Democrat, struggled to balance his stance. He told CNN, “I want the people of my state to understand that I have no tolerance for violent offenders, period and full stop”. Yet he also criticized the idea of a Trump/Vance ICE operation violating state laws. Moore claimed there is nothing he will not do to keep communities safe.
