Breaking: Trump Will Turn Himself In on Thursday – Watch

Former President Donald Trump will turn himself in to authorities in Georgia on Thursday after being indicted by a Fulton County grand jury on racketeering charges related to his alleged attempts to overturn the state’s 2020 election results.

Trump made this announcement on his social media company: “Can you believe it? I’ll be going to Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday to be ARRESTED by a Radical Left District Attorney, Fani Willis, who is overseeing one of the greatest Murder and Violent Crime DISASTERS in American History.”

Earlier on Monday, Trump agreed to a $200,000 bond and other release conditions after his legal team met with the Fulton County District Attorney’s office.

The former president consented to the bond order that includes 13 counts of charges including criminal conspiracy and solicitation, making false statements, and violation of Georgia’s version of the Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act.

Trump had this to say about the opposing District Attorney:

“The failed District Attorney of Fulton County (Atlanta), Fani Willis, insisted on a $200,000 Bond from me. I assume, therefore, that she thought I was a ‘flight risk’- I’d fly far away, maybe to Russia, Russia, Russia, share a gold domed suite with Vladimir, never to be seen or heard from again. Would I be able to take my very ‘understated’ airplane with the gold TRUMP affixed for all to see. Probably not, I’d be much better off flying commercial – I’m sure nobody would recognize me!”

Trump has denied any wrongdoing and has called the charges against him “politically motivated.” He has also accused the district attorney, Fani Willis, of being a “radical left” prosecutor.

Trump is expected to turn himself in at the Fulton County Jail on Thursday morning. He will be processed and released on bond.

The conservative media has been quick to portray Trump’s arrest as a political witch hunt. The Washington Examiner ran an op-ed arguing that the charges against Trump are “baseless.”
