Well, look at that—a CNN panel stumbled upon a revelation about how the Democrats managed to drive one of the world’s most influential entrepreneurs, Elon Musk, right into the arms of Donald Trump. You’d almost think they planned it, but no, this was more of a slow-motion car crash, with Democrats refusing to give Musk any credit for, you know, actually transforming the electric vehicle industry and pioneering space exploration. It’s a classic example of letting ideology get in the way of pragmatism, and now, surprise, surprise, the tech mogul is backing Trump.
Rep. Ro Khanna, a California Democrat, didn’t mince words on the CNN panel. He pointed out that Democrats “offended” Musk by failing to acknowledge his massive contributions to innovation. This is the guy who made electric cars mainstream with Tesla, built a global satellite network with Starlink, and brought private space travel to the forefront with SpaceX. But instead of celebrating these achievements, the Democrats acted like they’d rather give participation trophies to failing public projects than recognize a successful entrepreneur who dared to challenge unions.
The snub that really set things off? Biden’s infamous 2021 electric vehicle summit. The White House gathered automakers to celebrate the shift to EVs but conveniently left out Tesla—the company that pretty much invented the modern electric car. Even CNN contributor Kara Swisher, not exactly a conservative darling, admitted she was puzzled by the omission. She recalled calling the White House to ask why they snubbed Musk, noting that he was “very angry” about it. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s glib response? A perfect example of the administration’s arrogance and a missed opportunity to bring Musk into the fold.
Musk, who once happily aligned with the Obama administration, found himself increasingly alienated by a party that now seems more interested in appeasing union bosses than acknowledging real innovation. Khanna himself admitted, “We should have celebrated his contributions to electric vehicles even though he was against unionization.” But let’s be real—Democrats couldn’t bring themselves to overlook Musk’s stance on unions, even if it meant alienating a guy who’s built rockets, cars, and a global internet network. Priorities, right?
NEW: CNN panel admits they messed up and drove Elon Musk away from the Democratic party, say they should have respected his contributions to the world.
The panel blasted the Biden administration for purposely excluding Musk from events.

It wasn’t just the EV snub, either. The Biden administration and its allies seemed to go out of their way to antagonize Musk. There was the backlash over Musk’s private jet and those negative tweets about his carbon footprint, all while ignoring the massive impact of his clean energy initiatives. But hey, it’s hard to pass up a chance to virtue signal. Khanna tried to deflect blame, saying Democrats aren’t responsible for every critical tweet, but come on—when you’re taking potshots at one of the few guys actually reducing emissions on a grand scale, maybe it’s time to reassess the playbook.
Elon Musk was historically a moderate Democrat and had a good relationship with President Obama, who visited SpaceX in Cape Canaveral. Elon Musk even stood in line for six hours to shake Obama’s hand when he was running for president.

And let’s not forget the elephant—or should we say donkey—in the room: the Biden-Harris administration’s refusal to recognize Musk’s achievements extends beyond public snubs. As noted by SMX on X, the administration went so far as to cancel contracts with Musk’s companies “with no sensible reasons.” This is a guy who literally stood in line for six hours just to shake Obama’s hand back in the day. But now, because he doesn’t fit neatly into their pro-union, big-government narrative, he’s persona non grata in the Democratic Party.
So now, Musk is backing Trump, attending rallies in Pennsylvania, and giving his endorsement to the GOP. And why not? Trump, whatever his faults, doesn’t mind celebrating success, especially when it means taking jabs at the Biden administration’s failures.
As Democrats scratch their heads over how they lost Musk, maybe they should take a good look in the mirror. After all, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist—or the guy who builds them—to see that disrespecting innovators and dismissing their contributions is a surefire way to drive them into the arms of the opposition.
