The former attorney for Stormy Daniels Michael Avenatti, the man that CNN claimed was going to take down President Trump, was locked up by federal agents on Tuesday.
The State of California is pursuing disbarment against Avenatti, he is being accused of using a fake document to scam a former client out of $840,000, taking the money won from a lawsuit and placing it in his own personal bank account.
During a break in testimony, a team from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California who is pursuing a criminal case against Avenatti in another matter in Orange County met with Avenatti’s lawyers then took him into custody.
“I understand that Mr. Avenatti has been arrested by the federal authorities for violating the terms of his release,” said attorney Steven Bledsoe.
When the disciplinary hearing reconvened Avenatti’s lawyer informed the court that “in connection with a criminal matter in Santa Ana, Avenatti was unable to return to court.” It has not been disclosed what Avenatti did to violate the conditions of his pretrial release. Although, Them Mrozek, a spokesperson for the US attorney’s office in Los Angeles said that Avenatti will have a hearing this week.

Avenatti was best known for being a CNN darling who had over 245 appearances on TV before his legal troubles started to catch up with him. Almost everyday Avenatti was on CNN boasting he and Stormy Daniels had the goods to take down President Trump.
On the other side of the country, Avenatti also is facing charges in New York for trying to blackmail Nike claiming that the shoe company was paying high school students.
