Congratulations Cobb County, Georgia you got what you voted for.
Cobb County, Georgia overwhelmingly voted for Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election and beat former President Trump by 14 points, that decision has now come back to bite them.
During an interview with ESPN Biden declared that he would “strongly support” players who believe Major League Baseball should move the summer All-Star Game from Truist Stadium – home of the Atlanta Braves – in response to the new voting law signed by Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp.
The voting law closed loopholes in the states election laws including the verification and use of absentee ballots.
Well, the MLB listened and decided to move the game to another state and the Cobb, County Travel and Tourism Bureau estimated they will lose around $100 million.
“This event would have directly impacted our county and the state, as visitors spend their dollars on local accommodations, transportation, entertainment and recreation, food and retail throughout the county,” Cobb County Travel and Tourism said. “This would have been a big boost to Cobb businesses and help with recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Not anymore, the man you (Cobb, County) all overwhelmingly supported influenced the MLB to move the game because of an election law that is less stringent than the voting laws in Biden’s home State of Delaware.
As a result of the MLB moving the game the 8,000 plus hotel rooms contracted have been canceled and good luck finding a venue to fill that contract.
Liberals always manage to cancel themselves.
Senator Jon Ossoff (D-Georgia) seemed to be the only Democrat to realize that the only people that would be hurt by the boycott would be Democrats.
“I absolutely oppose and reject any notion of boycotting Georgia,” Ossoff said. “Georgia welcomes business, investment, jobs, opportunity, and events. In fact, economic growth is driving much of the political progress we have seen here. Georgia welcomes the world’s business. Corporations disgusted like we are with the disgraceful Voter Suppression bill should stop any financial support to Georgia’s Republican Party, which is abusing its power to make it harder for Americans to vote.”
