Pelosi wasn’t the only Democrat to throw a temper tantrum during a press conference on Thursday. Illinois Gov. J.B Pritzker (D) did as too when he was asked about the whereabouts that his billionaire spouse dodged the state’s stay-at-home order.
Reports are that Pritzker’s wife has fled to their $21.1 million equestrian estates in South Florida and he wasn’t happy he was asked about it.
Pritzker is taking heat because he just extended the state’s stay-at-home order until May 30th telling residents it will be difficult but, “we’re all in this together.” However, that doesn’t seem to be the case, the first lady of Illinois is hanging out in a multi-million dollar ranch while millions of Illinoisans are unemployed and forced to stay home thanks to her husband.
Pritzker was flustered when asked about his wife and told the Patch reporter it was “reprehensible” that he was asked about his wife.
“Where’s the first lady? Is she accompanied by a state security detail has she engaged a non-essential travel? What is your response to people who say the state home order and non-essential travel bans aren’t being abided by your family?” he was asked.
“I believe there’s a report from Illinois Rising Action that says that she recently traveled to Florida,” the woman added.
“Well first of all, I want to say that in politics it used to be that we kept our families out of it,” Pritzker said, contending that his “official duties” have nothing to do with his family.
“You know my official duties have nothing to do with my family, so I’m just not going to answer that question. It’s inappropriate and I find it reprehensible, honestly, that that that reporter wrote a story about it,” he added:
While the people of Illinois are stuck home unemployed the governor’s wife is sitting comfortably in South Florida on a $21 million ranch in a state that is lifting their stay-at-home order; yeah that sounds fair.
