The billionaire, former New York City Mayor, and now Democrat presidential primary candidate Michael Bloomberg made some very frightening comments about the Texas church shooting that occurred on December 29th.
Bloomberg has been a strong anti-gun advocate and was responsible for helping to get Democrats elected in Virginia in order to pass strict anti-gun laws. The former mayor openly shows disdain for those that support the 2nd Amendment and a great example is what he said in response to the West Freeway Church of Christ shooting.
On December 29th a gunman walked into the church and shot several worshippers. A volunteer security guard at the church Jack Wilson then went into action shooting the gunman at 50 feet in the head and ended what could have turned into a massacre. There is no doubt Jack Wilson is a hero and saved lives.
We all know that a good guy with a gun placed in soft targets like churches and schools can save lives when a bad guy shows up.
Michael Bloomberg doesn’t believe that and he doesn’t think any citizen has the right to carry firearms. During an event in Alabama Bloomberg said, “It may be true that someone in the congregation had his own gun and killed the person who murdered two other people, but it’s the job of law enforcement to have guns and to decide when to shoot. You just do not want the average citizen carrying a gun in a crowded place.”
On average in the country, it takes police an average of 10 minutes to respond to a call. The church shooting in Texas happened in seconds if the people at the church had to wait for police more people would have been shot and possibly died.
