Democrats who are panicking over Tucker Carlson’s release of some of the Jan. 6 footage of the riot on the Capitol are popping up like a jack-in-the-box.
Adam Kinzinger seems to be in a perpetual meltdown, he even went on CNN where he got schools by former U.S. Ambassador to Germany Ric Grenell.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer went into full tantrum mode right on the Senate floor. He went so far as to demand that Fox head Rupert Murdoch stop Tucker Carlson from releasing more of the Jan. 6 video.
So one of the leading Democrats believes that Democracy can be saved by ending the free speech of your political foes. And what’s even worse is that Schumer just outright lied about what Tucker Carlson said on his show. He maintained that Tucker said the riot was not violent, but the Fox host said no such thing.
Schumer has gone after Fox and tried to suppress speech in the past. He said he not only had a “right to tell Rupert Murdoch and Fox what to do but an obligation.” He said, “democracy was at greater risk than it’s ever been.”
Now, where is the real “risk” to democracy here?
Schumer and Kinzinger are going nuts for sure, but maybe the worst action around this issue came from Attorney General Merrick Garland himself. He told one of the biggest lies yet about the riot at the Capitol.
Garland was asked by a reporter during a press briefing what he thought about Carlson’s footage, and the attorney general talked about five officers dying that day because of the assaults on them.
The truth is that no officers died that day. The only person “killed” was Ashli Babbitt who was shot by a Capitol Police officer.
Garland’s actions demonstrate exactly why the release of this footage is so important. Democrats have been lying about this very point from the beginning.
