A Department of Justice spokesperson confirmed the action to The Daily Caller on Monday. “Today in the Washington, D.C. area, Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice,” the spokesperson said.
The investigation focuses on immigration paperwork filled out by Omar’s late father when she was a child. Fox News reported that federal agents swarmed her residence amid this criminal fraud inquiry.
Border Czar Tom Homan previously told The Daily Wire that Omar faces an ongoing criminal investigation. He confirmed last month that officials were looking into allegations that she married her brother to commit fraud.
