The official Twitter account of the Fairfax County Democratic Committee in Virginia posted a claim over the weekend that the “Riots are an integral part of this country’s march towards progress,” as store owners were beaten and businesses were burned.
RT @bharatkrishnan9: When President Obama included the Stonewall Riots in his 2nd inaugural, he didn’t make that decision lightly. Riots are an integral part of this country’s march towards progress.

A screenshot of the post survived after the DNC deleted the post.
The quote was referring to a passage in a post on Medium written by President Barack Obama which he said: “We, the people, declare today that the most evident of truths –- that all of us are created equal –- is the star that guides us still; just as it guided our forebears through Seneca Falls, and Selma, and Stonewall.”
The Stonewall Riots occurred in New York City in 1969 and are considered an important event in the gay rights movement.
So according to Democrats, this is progress…

I guess this “progressive newspaper” was just a casualty for the cause…

Next time you hear Democrats quote, “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,” remember this…

In the wake of last night’s demonstrations, there are numerous instances of vandalism to sites around the National Mall. For generations the Mall has been our nation’s premier civic gathering space for non-violent demonstrations, and we ask individuals to carry on that tradition. pic.twitter.com/LmIHfW2AHj

Americans are appalled by the killing of George Floyd and justice is being dealt but what is happening now is not a “march towards progress.” It’s lawlessness and the actions of those rioting (not the peaceful protestors ) are destroying the ability to change what needs to be changed.
