Durham Draws Applause with Response to Insane Democratic Zinger – Watch

Special Counsel John Durham has been under attack from Democrats since he began his investigation into the origins of the Russia investigation.

During the House Judiciary Committee’s hearing on Special Counsel John Durham’s probe of the FBI’s decision to launch its Crossfire Hurricane investigation of “Russian collusion” and related conduct, Democrats attacked Durham personally. Their attempts, however, fell flat and came across largely as a partisan diversion to protect politicized FBI bureacracy.

Democratic Rep. Steve Cohen used his time during the hearing to blast Durham for his “nothing burger” report and warned the special counsel that his reputation would suffer the longer he stuck by Trump.

“You got no convictions, you got nothing. It was all set up to hurt the Mueller report, which was correct and was redacted to hurt the Bidens and to help Trump,” Cohen said during the Wednesday hearing. “You had a good reputation. That’s why the two Democrats supported you. But the longer you hold on to Mr. Barr and this report that Mr. Barr gave you a special counsel, your reputation will be damaged as everybody’s reputation who gets involved with Donald Trump is damaged. He’s damaged goods. There’s no good dealing with him because you will end up on the bottom of a pyre.”

That caused Rep. Darrell Issa to ask rhetorically, “Can we presume the gentleman is undecided on how he feels about the former president?”

Durham responded both cool and collected to Cohen’s rant: “My concern about my reputation is with the people who I respect, my family, and my lord — and I’m perfectly comfortable with my reputation with them, sir.”

Durham’s response drew applause from the audience.

Democrats failed to use this opportunity to learn more about the FBI’s actions or the probe’s recommendations for needed remedies. This is the real “nothing burger.”
