Etienne Discusses Biden’s Tenure During CNN Segment

It was another day, another battle for CNN Republican commentator Scott Jennings, who, let’s face it, has one of the hardest jobs in media. The man deserves hazard pay for enduring a newsroom full of folks who seem more like Biden PR agents than actual journalists. Wednesday’s showdown was no exception, as Jennings had to step in and debunk the predictable, recycled talking points from former Kamala Harris aide Ashley Etienne, who was all too happy to defend President Biden while taking potshots at Donald Trump.

The conversation started with Etienne praising Biden for lamenting the decline of trust in the media. Yes, you read that right—Joe Biden, the man whose administration spins harder than a DJ at Coachella, is apparently distressed about misinformation. The irony practically writes itself. Jennings, ever the patient gladiator in the lion’s den, didn’t let that slide. He asked the million-dollar question: “Has Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, or Karine Jean-Pierre ever lied?”

Cue the awkward shrug from Etienne, followed by a weak attempt to deflect: “I don’t know, what are you talking about?” You’d think a former Harris staffer would at least come prepared with some kind of defense, but instead, she pivoted to the oldest trick in the book—blaming Trump. According to Etienne, Trump “stood at the podium every day” and lied. Sure, because no Democrat has ever misled the American people, right?

Jennings wasn’t having it. He calmly pointed out the glaring hypocrisy of Biden’s self-proclaimed status as the beacon of truth, particularly in light of his administration’s infamous attempts to cover up his declining health and other scandals. But rather than addressing that, Etienne decided to trot out the thoroughly debunked claim that Trump told people to “drink bleach” during the pandemic. Yes, folks, the “bleach” myth is back because, apparently, 2020 never really ended in the minds of some.

Jennings quickly shut that down with a simple, “Didn’t happen. Debunked.” But Etienne wasn’t done. She blamed Trump for the deaths of 500,000 people during COVID, conveniently ignoring the role of Democratic governors who sent COVID-positive patients into nursing homes or the fact that the virus wasn’t waiting around for Trump’s speeches to decide how lethal it would be. Jennings, with his trademark wit, asked the obvious question: “Are you saying the virus was listening to Donald Trump?”

The back-and-forth highlighted a glaring problem: the left’s obsession with blaming Trump for everything, even when the facts don’t support it. Etienne went so far as to blame Trump for the economic standstill during the pandemic, conveniently forgetting that it was Democratic governors who enforced draconian lockdowns that crushed small businesses and livelihoods. And let’s not forget, countries worldwide implemented similar measures, often with far worse results, but somehow that’s Trump’s fault too?

What’s most baffling is the left’s refusal to give Trump credit where it’s due—like Operation Warp Speed, which fast-tracked the development of vaccines. As Jennings pointed out, Trump didn’t just talk; he delivered results. Meanwhile, Biden and his team continue to spin narratives about “truth” and “restoring the soul of the nation” while undermining those very claims with their actions.

Jennings was right to call the entire exchange “insane.” The left’s willingness to rewrite history and pin every global crisis on Trump is nothing new, but it’s exhausting to watch. Instead of engaging in honest debates, they double down on falsehoods and hope no one notices. Thankfully, Jennings was there to hold the line and remind everyone that facts still matter—even on CNN.
