One of Joe Biden’s COVID “experts” Andy Slavitt had a real hard time when trying to explain why California isn’t fairing as well as states like Florida that stayed open.
MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle accidentally caught senior White House COVID adviser Andy Slavitt off guard and he could not answer a simple question.
“Contrast states like Florida and California, California basically in lockdown, and their numbers aren’t that different from Florida,” Ruhle noted.
Slavitt didn’t answer the question but said more states need to use measures like those in California.
“Look, there’s so much of this virus that we think we understand, that we think we can predict, it’s just a little beyond our explanation,” he said. “What we do know is the more careful people are, the more they mask and social distance, the quicker we vaccinate, the quicker it goes away and the less it spreads. But we have got to get better visibility into variants and what role they play, large events, etcetera. But as we learned, this is a virus that continues to surprise us.”
“It’s very hard to predict,” he added.
It should be noted that the measures Slavitt wants states created the drive for California Governor Gavin Newsom to be recalled.

California has reported 56 hospitalizations related to the virus per 100,000 resident in January compared to 35 per 100,000 in Florida; numbers in both states fell in February. Florida has faired far better than California who has been in some state of lockdown for almost a year.
California Governor Gavin Newsom and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo were praised last year for combating Trump by using strict coronavirus policies. Now, Newsom is on the verge of being recalled, and State Legislators are looking to impeach Cuomo. Throughout 2020 the media and Democrats attacked Florida Governor Ron DeSantis policies however his state has faired the best out of the three.
This week, DeSantis touted just how successful Florida has been, his policies are destroying liberal narratives and exposing just how bad the Biden Administrations coronavirus plan is.
