Rep. Devin Nunes called out Rep. Adam Schiff and told him to put up or shut up.
“Schiff himself voted to release these transcripts and claims he wants them out,” Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., told Fox News Thursday. “There’s no reason he can’t publish them all today—except that he really doesn’t want the American people to see how little evidence there ever was for the Russian collusion hoax he advocated and continues to advocate.”
The transcripts are of House Intelligence Committee interviews have been cleared for release and it shows that law enforcement and intelligence officials affirm they had NO EVIDENCE that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia during the 2016 election.
Those same results would corroborate the Muller report that also found no evidence of illegal or criminal coordination between Trump and Russia. These transcripts fly in the face of House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff’s claim that there was “direct evidence” of collusion.
Fox News reports:
Earlier this week, House Republicans sought over 6,000 pages of transcripts pertaining to interviews conducted by the committee in 2017 and 2018, after the panel in September 2018 voted on a bipartisan basis to approve their public release.
A day later, acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell notified Schiff, D-Calif., that the redaction and declassification process was complete, and that the records were ready for release, putting the ball in Schiff’s court.
The remaining 10 transcripts included interviews with President Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., former adviser Steve Bannon, the president’s son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner, Trump aide Hope Hicks and former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski.
A spokesman for the committee has said that they are now “reviewing the proposed redactions from ODNI based on classification, law enforcement sensitivity or items ODNI requests be for official use only,” the spokesman continued. “Given the overtly political role now played by the acting DNI, including the leak of his letter, this committee and the public can have little confidence that his determinations are made on the merits.”
In other words, they are going to add more redactions to cover up the fact that this whole thing was a dog and pony show.
The spokesman also claimed that the process has taken too long, despite the fact that Schiff has kept some of the transcripts under lock and key for several months.
Schiff’s team has also said (of course) the coronavirus will slow the process, “newly proposed redactions” would be “as expeditious as possible given the constraints of the pandemic.” He continued, “We look forward to releasing these transcripts, which relate to misconduct by the Trump campaign and the president himself.”
Hey Adam how about you just release the transcripts. Rep. Deven Nunes goaded Schiff all Thursday taunting him to just release the transcripts as is.
What really needs to happen is a Republican staffer needs to take those damn transcripts and file a whistleblower complaint…Oh, would that turn the tables on Schiff!
