Fed up House Republicans have had enough of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s games over impeachment and Rep. Bradley Byrne (R-AL) will introduce a resolution to censure Pelosi.
It has been three weeks since House Democrats voted to impeach President Donald Trump and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has failed to do her duty and send the articles of impeachment to the Senate for trial.
In an interview with Breitbart News Byrne said, “Speaker Pelosi’s decision to hold the articles of impeachment against President Trump in a pathetic and unconstitutional attempt to extract concessions from the Senate is an unprecedented abuse of power. House Democrats made the misguided decision to rush through the most legally unsound and factually unsupported articles of impeachment in the history of this country, and they can’t now insist that the Senate fix their shoddy, incomplete work.”
Byrne isn’t the only elected official on Capitol Hill who thinks Pelosi has delayed long enough. Several Democrats to include Diane Feinstein have come out and said if the House is serious about impeachment they need to send the articles to the Senate. The ranking member on the Senate Judiciary Committee said, “If we’re going to do it, she should send them over, I don’t see what good delay does.”
House Democrats flew through impeachment hearings in December claiming that it was urgent and necessary that they impeach President Trump. Hearings were only made public after House Republicans stormed in on one of Schiff’s secret hearings. From that point on the public impeachment hearings resembled a one-sided kangaroo court.
Rushing to get things done before Christmas House Democrats voted to impeach President Trump and then Pelosi as required was supposed to send the articles to the Senate but, she didn’t.
Senate Majority Leader has united GOP Senators and any attempts by Pelosi to leverage Republican Senators have failed. It’s time to censure Pelosi and end this entire impeachment dog and pony show.
