Florida Democratic Party Chairwoman Nikki Fried Get’s Skewered by Piers Morgan Over DeSantis – Watch

Florida Democratic Party Chairwoman Nikki Fried took a shot at Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) when he sat down for an interview with British television host Piers Morgan for his show, “Piers Morgan Uncensored.”

The leftist party chairwoman lost in her bid for the 2022 Democratic nomination in the Florida gubernatorial race to ex-Republican Charlie Crist. But even from her losing vantage point, Fried tried to mock DeSantis for doing the interview. She suggested that he had only done it to resuscitate a flagging campaign.

“Ron DeSantis retreated to a flipping @piersmorgan interview to try to save his failing campaign,” Fried tweeted. “Bahahahahahahaa. Hahahahahahahaa. Bahahahahahahah.”

Well, she shouldn’t have gone against DeSantis or Morgan, the host shot right back at her noting that the state party she chairs had just lost and lost real big to the man she was trying to throw shade at.

“No disrespect but if I were a Florida Democrat, I’d probably avoid talking about failing campaigns when it comes to a guy who just flatlined you …” Morgan tweeted in response.

DeSantis has not yet officially declared his intention to seek the 2024 Republican Presidential nomination, but several sources have indicated that he is likely to do so. The governor gave a huge hint during the interview with Morgan that he might be ready to run and win against President Joe Biden.

“If I were to run, I’m running against Biden, Like we [he and Trump] are competing for the Republican [nomination], potentially, I get that, but ultimately, you know, the guy I’m gonna focus on is Biden because I think he’s failed the country. I think the country wants a change. I think they want a fresh start and a new direction and so we’ll be very vocal about that. I spent a lot of time in Florida fighting back,” DeSantis told Morgan.

He also made it clear that he believed he would be able to defeat Biden in the 2024 campaign.

In an op-ed that came out before the interview, Morgan said that it was “clear that the governor has had enough of Trump’s constant baiting and felt ready to take him on.”
