Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich Makes This Stunning Prediction About Trump – Watch

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich has explained why he believes former President Donald Trump’s poll numbers have gone up since he was indicted by a grand jury in Georgia.

Gingrich believes the criminal cases brought against former President Donald Trump have improved his chances of winning the 2024 Republican nomination and the general election against President Joe Biden.

During an interview on Fox News’s “Life, Liberty & Levin,” Gingrich said that he believes the former president has seen boosts in support after indictments – of which Trump is now facing four – because voters see him as going “head-on” against a “corrupt, authoritarian system.”

“I think many people who may or may not like Trump’s personality, but they look at this and they think, ‘Here are my choices. I’m going to side with a totally corrupt administration or I’m going to side with the guy who has the guts to stand there and take the beating and keep coming,” Gingrich told host Mark Levin.

“The reason is simple: They feel that the police have harassed them,” Gingrich told Levin. “They’re now watching the government harass Trump. They actually identify with what he’s going through.”

The indictments might catapult Trump not only to the Republican nomination but also back to the White House, according to Gingrich.

“I think that the country is in fact going to nominate Trump, and I think Trump has a very high likelihood of winning the general election,” Gingrich argued.

Gingrich’s comments come as Trump’s poll numbers have been steadily rising since he was indicted. A recent poll by Quinnipiac University found that Trump is now the most popular Republican among Republican voters.

The poll also found that Trump would beat President Joe Biden in a hypothetical general election matchup.
