Hillary Clinton Gives Warning On ‘The View’

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton voiced grave concerns about the prospect of former President Donald Trump securing a second term, stating that it “would be the end of our country as we know it.” Clinton made these remarks during an appearance on ABC’s “The View,” responding to co-host Sunny Hostin’s question about the potential consequences of Trump winning the 2024 presidential election.

Reflecting on her loss to Trump in 2016, Clinton emphasized that the country is still grappling with the impact of Trump’s policies and the divisions he allegedly sowed. When asked about the potential outcomes of a Trump reelection, Clinton stated, “I can’t even think that because I think it would be the end of our country as we know it. And I don’t say that lightly.”

Clinton, who had previously accused Trump of “stealing” the 2016 election, suggested that a second Trump term might involve the suspension of future elections. Drawing on her experience as Secretary of State, she discussed the concept of “one and done,” where legitimately elected leaders attempt to undermine elections, opposition, and a free press.

Drawing a historical parallel, Clinton referenced Hitler’s election and expressed concerns about dictatorial and authoritarian tendencies. She cautioned that Trump is telegraphing his intentions, stating, “Trump is telling us what he intends to do! Take him at his word.”

According to Clinton, a second Trump term could witness the undermining of the rule of law, imprisonment of dissenting voices, and the closure of legitimate press outlets. Her remarks underscore the existing political divisions and apprehensions surrounding the potential return of Donald Trump to the presidency.
