House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is very optimistic about his Republican Party taking back the House and Senate in the midterms this month. He even believes that we make history in this election.
McCarthy interviewed with Breitbart news this weekend and he said that luck seems to be on the GOP side with less than two weeks to go until Election Day.
“We’re just a short time away from hopefully making some history here,” McCarthy said.
He seemed positive that Republicans will come out as the winner in the election, but he also admitted that he is nervous about whether his party can pull it out.
“It seems like that’s the case. But that always makes me nervous,” McCarthy said, adding “last time we didn’t lose one incumbent.”
He went further giving praise to his party’s ability to recruit new members. He suggested that Republicans have an advantage against Democrats, calling it the “best we’ve ever seen.”
He also noted that GOP candidates are winning because the issues facing the country right now can be tied to the bad policies coming from the Left.
“Inflation, they brought crime in our streets, the open borders, fentanyl — the number one killer of Americans 18-45,” McCarthy said.
McCarthy believes that inflation has created the biggest strain on the lives of Americans and will be the leading factor in how people vote.
According to an ABC News/ Ipsos poll, Americans say that the economy and inflation are their number one concern when it comes to the state of the U.S.
McCarthy also declared how important this election is and said that the GOP are fighting for the health of the country and the Democrats were not.
“This is like a hinge election,” he said, which “only happens once every 50 years. This is like a 1979, 1980 election all over again. It’s about the policies and direction for America. Who best has the plan to turn America around to make it strong again.”
