It must be getting near the time when Joe Biden will announce that he is running for reelection in the 2024 presidential campaign. The president’s team is beginning to come up with some amazing excuses as to why Biden’s age should not be an issue.
The problem is that evidence continues to mount that it really is an issue.
CNN recently did a thorough piece on the “age questions” that have come to Biden since before he declared his candidacy in 2019.
Their report indicated that Biden’s team is ready to use some of the same strategies they used in 2020. They are getting some 20 and 30-somethings to vouch for Biden’s vitality and fitness to lead. And they will also promise that he is ushering in a “new generation of leaders.”
Towards the end of the piece from CNN, we hear from a longtime Biden ally in Delaware who makes the case that Biden has more energy now at 80 years of age than he did in the late 1980s when he was in his 40s.
Can. You. Believe. It.
“The energy is higher now than maybe when I first met him, and I really believe that that’s inspired by the work,” said Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester, a Delaware Democrat.
Jim Geraghty said flat out that it was not “plausible.”
So get ready for some more crazy defenses for Biden’s fitness.
Here’s another one, we are being told that Biden is the “best communicator” the White House has.
Please, roll the tape, any tape of him talking.
A majority of Americans have made it clear in polls that they have concerns about Biden’s mental fitness to lead the country. Surprisingly, a whole lot of Democrats feel this way.
To see the White House doing cartwheels to prove he can lead is painful to watch, and it will likely come back to haunt them at the ballot box.
If it walks like a duck…
