Oh, this is just chef’s kiss—another episode of “Democrats Try Too Hard and Fail Spectacularly.” This time, the cast includes AOC and her merry band of House Democrats, who thought that striking a “choose your fighter” pose outside the Capitol would somehow prove to the American people that they’re relatable, down-to-earth leaders. Spoiler alert: it didn’t. Instead, it went viral for all the wrong reasons, as conservatives (and even a few bewildered liberals) collectively cringed at the spectacle.
Let’s start with the brains behind this masterpiece: influencer Sulhee Jessica Woo, also known as the “Bento Box Queen.” Because, of course, nothing screams political credibility like an internet personality whose claim to fame is decorating lunchboxes. Woo was invited to Washington to attend Trump’s joint address to Congress, and naturally, she decided to put together a little video showcasing the Democrats in their most authentic form—posing like video game characters, complete with quirky little traits like “not a morning person” and “Trekkie.” Compelling, truly. If only the Founding Fathers could see us now.
“Choose your fighter!” Yeah, no thanks.
Democrats keep outdoing themselves with dumbness. Who is getting paid big consulting bucks to come up with this stuff??
Not even the TikTok generation wants to vote for these people. 😂

Predictably, conservatives on social media wasted no time shredding this embarrassing display. Benny Johnson sarcastically noted, “We’re never going to lose again, are we?”—a comment dripping with the kind of confidence that comes from watching your opponents set themselves on fire. Even CNN’s Jake Tapper, hardly a right-wing firebrand, couldn’t resist taking a swipe, pointing out that this was apparently the Democrats’ grand plan to show they’re an “effective opposition party.” A+ work, team.
But it wasn’t just conservatives, it was so bad even Jimmy Kimmel mocked them.
Jimmy Kimmel, a liberal late-night host, criticized Democrats for their weak efforts in opposing the Republican-led government. A TikTok video titled “Choose Your Fighter” may not have had the impact its creators hoped for. pic.twitter.com/m0KjTUlzZV

And then, just to put a neat little bow on this mess, the official White House X account dropped its own response, a video reminding everyone that “America chose its fighters last November.” That clip featured Trump, Melania, and key members of the administration like Kristi Noem and Kash Patel—actual leaders doing actual work. You know, the kind of people who don’t have to resort to TikTok gimmicks to prove their legitimacy.

Jasmine Crockett, one of the House Democrats featured in the video, attempted some damage control, telling Daily Mail that the whole point was to show that Democrats are “real people.” According to her, there’s a perception that Democrats are elitist and robotic (wonder why), and this was their effort to change that narrative. Here’s the problem: people don’t think Democrats are out of touch because they lack quirky personality traits. They think Democrats are out of touch because they prioritize performative nonsense like this over real issues—border security, inflation, crime, you name it.
Crockett also made a point to remind everyone that she’s always been her “natural” self, which is certainly true, considering this is the same lawmaker who once got into a screaming match with Marjorie Taylor Greene and later told Elon Musk to “f*** off” in a viral video. Because nothing says statesmanship like profanity-laced social media rants.
But wait, it gets better. If the “choose your fighter” cringe-fest wasn’t enough, Democrats also managed to humiliate themselves during Trump’s speech to Congress. Instead of offering any kind of coherent opposition, they sat there holding up black signs attacking Musk and various Trump policies. MSNBC’s Symone Sanders—yes, MSNBC’s Symone Sanders—couldn’t hide her frustration, calling it a “sad cavalcade of self-owns and unhinged petulance.” When John Fetterman, a guy known for showing up to work in gym shorts, is calling you out for being unserious, you know you’ve gone off the rails.
You want a choose your fighter video, here’s a member of the Trump admin.

And here’s the kicker: according to fresh polling, only 10 percent of Americans think the Democrats have a “good strategy” to handle Trump. That means even most Democrats don’t believe in what their party is doing right now. So, if this video was meant to turn things around, well… mission not accomplished.
People don’t want to vote for politicians who are trying to be social media influencers. They want leaders. And as long as Democrats keep prioritizing these embarrassing stunts over real governance, they’re going to keep losing. Trump and the GOP didn’t even have to lift a finger for this one—Democrats took care of the self-sabotage all by themselves.
