Kamala Took Part In Briefing Amid Storm

It’s getting harder and harder to understand how Kamala Harris has gotten this far when every time she opens her mouth, it’s clear that even the basics seem to trip her up. As she continues her media tour, it’s obvious why she’s sticking to friendly outlets. Even with the softball questions, she struggles to land a coherent answer. It’s like watching a sitcom, except the stakes are a whole lot higher.

Take her recent attempt to manufacture a spat with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. While he was busy dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Helene and bracing for Hurricane Milton, Harris made a big show about how DeSantis supposedly wouldn’t take her call, accusing him of being “political.” But DeSantis was quick to set the record straight, pointing out that in all the years of storm disasters, this was the first time she ever tried to reach out to him—conveniently when she’s running for election. Nice timing, right? If Harris thought she could score some points off of DeSantis, it backfired spectacularly, with many wondering why she was focused on point-scoring instead of, you know, actually helping people in need.

She also caught a lot of heat for the Biden-Harris administration’s response to Hurricane Helene. To try to smooth things over, they put her in a Zoom meeting about preparations for Hurricane Milton. But instead of focusing on the work, Harris couldn’t resist the urge to spin it into a talking point about “misinformation.” Now, call it old-fashioned, but shouldn’t the priority be helping people recover from the disaster, not lecturing them about their beliefs?

But here’s where it gets truly laughable. During this Zoom call, she apparently didn’t realize it was live and that everyone could hear her. With her hands over her face, she not so quietly whispered to an aide, “Live broadcast.” Then she asked a question—one that seemed a little too rehearsed. Did the aide just spoon-feed her a question to ask? Yikes. It’s like she’s still trying to figure out how these meetings work. Imagine having to ask whether you’re allowed to speak in a live discussion. It is not exactly the kind of leadership that inspires confidence, is it?

And then it got even more cringeworthy. Harris tried to emphasize the importance of taking the storm seriously. But what should have been a simple, clear message turned into a jumbled mess. She couldn’t deliver a single sentence without glancing down at notes, and even then, it came out garbled. Watching it, you couldn’t help but wonder, “What is happening here?” It’s one thing to need notes for a policy deep-dive, but to need help just to remind people to be safe during a hurricane? Come on.

Viewers were left in disbelief, and not in a good way.

You’d think that after years in public office, Harris would have figured out how to handle the basics, like delivering a straightforward message or knowing when her mic is on. Instead, we got a front-row seat to her floundering through a routine update about disaster preparedness. It’s definitely entertaining, but unfortunately, it’s not the kind of entertainment voters want from a potential leader of the free world.
