Right on cue after a Black Lives Matter Leader, Shaun King called for the destruction of “white Jesus” images now the liberal cancel culture claims that images of St. Michael are “offensive.”
The liberal paper, The Guardian is promoting a petition that an award given out by the Queen that’s imagery shows St. Michael the Archangel over Satan be redesigned.
The Order of St. Michael and St. George is is bestowed at the pleasure of the British monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, and “recognizes service in a foreign country, or in relation to foreign and Commonwealth affairs” — typically of a non-military nature — with members holding the rank of Knight Grand Cross (GCMG), Knight Commander (KCMG), or Companion (CMG).
The order is 202 years old and social justice liberals claim the image is “offensive” because it shows a fair-skinned St. Michael “trampling” Satan.
“This is a highly offensive image, it is also reminiscent of the recent murder of George Floyd by the white policeman in the same manner presented here in this medal,” reads the petition to redesign the honour, attributed to one Tracy Reeve.
“We the undersigned are calling for this medal to be completely redesigned in a more appropriate way and for an official apology to be given for the offense it has given,” she adds.
Sir Simon Woolley who launched the petition on behalf of the “Operation Black Vote Campaign” claims the image of St Michael slaying Satan, shows the figure has no horns or tail and is “clearly a black man.”
However, what Sir Simon did not mention is that the Satan figure in the Order’s iconography has giant bat wings and the lower body of a gigantic serpent.
The Guardian promoted the petition just 24 hours after a Black Lives Matter leader said this…
Yes.
All murals and stained glass windows of white Jesus, and his European mother, and their white friends should also come down.
They are a gross form white supremacy.
Created as tools of oppression.
Racist propaganda. They should all come down.
