Lockdown Part 2? ‘More Mitigation Is Coming’ Says Former Surgeon General

The Sunday new shows trotting out Biden officials and surrogates all seem to be pointing to one thing, another lockdown.

Former Surgeon General Jerome Adams declared, “More mitigation is coming, whether it is masking or closures or whether it is your kids having to return to virtual learning. It is coming because this pandemic is spiraling out of control yet again…because we don’t have enough people vaccinated.”

During an appearance on ABC’s “This Week” former Chicago Mayor and Obama confidant said America needs a “reward-punishment system” to get people vaccinated.

Emanuel said, “The fact is no child can show up at school without showing their immunizations, smallpox and measles. You have to make this familiar to people. Second is, I would close the space. If you want to participate in activities, you have to show you are vaccinated. So it becomes a reward-punishment system. You make your own calculation. The fact is there’s data this week that 30% of health care workers are not vaccinated. They have got to lead by example.”

He added, “My own recommendation is the religious community ecumenically, across the board needs to speak up and encourage people. So you hit all populations with a singular message. I do give credit to the White House, whether it’s Fox TV or Republican leaders, getting a chorus of voices, across the spectrum, not just political, religious et cetera, with a singular message and lead by example.”

While Rahm was apperaing on ABC, Fauci was on CNN telling Jake Tapper he is pushing Biden to reimpose mask mandates for the entire country.

Fauci said, “You know, Jake, this is under active consideration. If you’re asking, am I part of the discussion? Yes, I am part of the discussion. But I think what you are seeing, even though as of our conversation at this moment, the CDC still says and recommends that if you are vaccinated fully, that you do not need to wear a mask indoors. However, if you look at what’s going on locally in the trenches, in places like L.A. County, the local officials have the discretion, and the CDC agrees with that ability and discretion capability to say, you know, you’re in a situation where we’re having a lot of dynamics of infection. Even if you are vaccinated, you should wear a mask.”

“That’s a local decision that’s not incompatible with the CDC’s overall recommendations that give a lot of discretion to the locals,” he continued. “And we’re going to seeing that in L.A. We’re seeing it in Chicago. We’re seeing that in New Orleans because the officials there, many of them are saying even if you’re vaccinated, it’s prudent to wear a mask indoors. That’s a local decision.”
