Former First Lady Michelle Obama has returned to her podcast microphone — and right on cue, she’s complaining again.
This time, she and Hollywood heiress Julia Louis-Dreyfus, daughter of a billionaire financier and star of Seinfeld, spent an episode of The Light Podcast bemoaning the “barriers” they face as women in modern society.
Yes, really.
“We [women] have so many landmines and barriers and don’ts and limitations,” Obama told her audience, adding that it’s important for men, especially fathers, to understand how these “rules” supposedly make women “small.” Louis-Dreyfus chimed in, calling these social rules “baked in,” lamenting the fact that people used to call women doctors… “female doctors.”
Michelle Obama and Julia Louis Dreyfus whine about the hardships of womanhood in the 21st century.🙄

This conversation might have struck a chord if it had come from average American women struggling under real burdens — but coming from two of the wealthiest, most privileged women in the country, it rings hollow and tone-deaf. Michelle Obama is reportedly worth $70 million. Julia Louis-Dreyfus, already worth $250 million from her acting career, is also set to inherit a sizable portion of her late father’s $4 billion estate.
What, exactly, is oppressing them?
It’s not the first time Michelle Obama has used her platform to vent about a country that has given her and her family everything — elite schooling, Ivy League credentials, access to power, immense wealth, and global fame. As RedState’s Bonchie previously noted, Obama has used her podcast to complain about the cost of living in the White House, criticize America as inherently racist, and air grievances about her husband’s habits.
This isn’t the story of a woman held down by the system. It’s the story of someone who has benefited from every advantage this country has to offer — and still chooses to paint herself as a victim. America didn’t fail Michelle Obama; it elevated her. And instead of showing gratitude or using her massive platform to inspire, she repeatedly feeds resentment and division.
Meanwhile, Obama’s podcast isn’t exactly lighting up the charts. As Rusty Weiss reported in April, The Light Podcast lags far behind shows like The Joe Rogan Experience, The Tucker Carlson Show, and even Call Her Daddy. In fact, the former First Lady’s attempt at a media empire has been largely ignored by the very audience she claims to be championing.
