Senator Mitt Romney wants to get revenge against Trump supporters that have turned him (rightly) into a party outcast.
While President, Trump did a fantastic job purging the party of rhinos or getting them to fall inline, like Senator Susan Collins.
Romney, was put on an island after he embraced Trump supporters to get reelected then, as soon as the election was over he cast them aside. After that, conservatives never forgave Romney and boo’d him every chance they got.
Now he is plotting revenge.
Romney said the events on January 6th was “an insurrection against the Constitution.”
“I was there,” Romney said. “What happened was a violent effort to interfere with and prevent the constitutional order of installing a new president.”
“As such, it was an insurrection against the Constitution that resulted in severe property damage, severe injuries and death,” he continued.
Romney doesn’t believe that the riots that swallowed the country last summer causing over $1 billion in damage needs to be investigated but, he supports a probe looking into Trump supporters.
Sen. Mitt Romney told me that it’s more important to probe what happened on Jan. 6 than other incidents, like the protests from last summer, as House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy wants.

The House is set to vote on a probe into the incursion on January 6 however it will require the vote of 60 Senators to pass. Romney has already given the thumbs up putting a microscope on Senators Toomey, Murkowski, Sasse, and Collins.
There are a lot of rhinos that would like to get revenge on Trump supporters, Senator Toomey (R-PA) is one of them and he is not running for reelection in 2022.
Republicans that end up voting for the investigation might as well kiss their careers in the GOP goodbye.
