More Than Just About Wearing Masks: When Comparing Trump’s Response About Masks To Biden’s It Is Why Trump Must Be Re-Elected

President Trump gave an interview with Fox Business Network anchor Blake Burman on Wednesday and answered questions about wearing masks and what his policy about wearing them. The President’s answer, when compared to what Biden said about masks, it is exactly why Trump needs to be re-elected.

Here’s a partial transcript:

Burman: Speaking of COVID-19, Goldman Sachs put out a model yesterday saying that if there is universal masks, it would be a net positive for GDP. We know the IHME model says that if there were universal masks, that it would be beneficial, it would save lives. So if there is an economic benefit, sir, and there is a public health benefit, sir, why not go forward and say there should be mandatory masks all across this country?

Trump: Well, I don’t know if you need “mandatory,” because you have many places in the country where people stay very long distance. You talk about social distancing. But I’m all for masks. I think masks are good. I would wear — if I were in a group of people and I was close –

Burman: You would wear one?

Trump: Oh, I would — oh, I have. I mean, people have seen me wearing one. If I’m in a group of people where we’re not, you know, ten feet away but usually I’m not in that position and everyone’s tested because I’m the president, they get tested before they see me. But if I were in a tight situation with people, I would absolutely –

Burman: Do you think the public will see that at some point?

Trump: I mean, I have no problem. Actually, I had a mask on. I sort of like the way I looked, okay? I thought it was okay. It was a dark black mask and I thought it looked okay. I looked like the Lone Ranger. But no, I have no problem with that. I think — and if people feel good about it they should do it.

Trump was referring to his visit to a Ford plant, he wore a mask out of the view of the press.

In contrast, Biden said that he would force Americans to wear masks in public.

Below is a partial transcript of an interview he did with a local CBS affiliate KDKA:

Q: I know you have been critical of the president’s handling of the pandemic in the past. But let’s look ahead. If you became president tomorrow, what would you do differently regarding the pandemic and getting these surging cases now under control?

Biden: I would go back to making sure that everybody had masks, that you had PPE [personal protective equipment] lined up, we’d have been making sure we stockpile all the things that we need that we don’t have now. The one thing we do know, these masks make a gigantic difference. I would insist that everybody out in public be wearing that mask. Anyone to reopen — would have to make sure that they walked in their business that had masks.

Q: Couldn’t you use the federal leverage to mandate that, though?

Biden: Yes.

Q: Would you?

Biden: Yes, I would from an executive standpoint, yes, i would.

Q: So you would, in effect, mandate the wearing of masks.

Biden:  I would do everything possible to make it required that people had to wear masks in public.

Biden’s response is exactly why President Trump must win this coming November, his answer is illegal, he can’t force Americans to wear masks. This great country is a republic and built on self-choice. Even though it would have been nice to see President Trump force Gov. Cuomo to open his state, President Trump refrained. In this constitutional republic called American, his administration issued guidelines and allowed state and local leaders to make their own decision. That would not have happened under a Biden presidency his administration would turn American into Michigan.
