MTG Undresses AOC in Dress Code Debate – Watch

On September 19, 2023, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) of New York and Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG) of Georgia engaged in a heated Twitter spat over the recent change to the Senate dress code.

The spat began when MTG tweeted her disapproval of the change, which allows senators to wear more casual attire on the floor. “The Senate no longer enforcing a dress code for Senators to appease Fetterman is disgraceful,” MTG wrote. “Dress code is one of society’s standards that set etiquette and respect for our institutions. Stop lowering the bar!”

In response, Fetterman tweeted, “Thankfully, the nation’s lower chamber lives by a higher code of conduct: displaying ding-a-ling pics in public hearings.” It was a comment he also repeated on Hayes’ show.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez got in on the action and took to social media later in the day Monday to make the same point to MTG: “Aren’t you the one who did revenge porn in a hearing?” AOC wrote.

AOC was referring to an incident in July 2023, when she shared nude images of Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, during a House Oversight and Reform Committee hearing. The images were first published by a right-wing website that obtained a copy of the younger Biden’s laptop.

MTG shot right back with: “Are you OK with Hunter Biden violating the MANN Act, which is human sex trafficking?”

The two lawmakers have clashed on a number of issues in the past, including climate change, gun control, and abortion rights. It is likely that they will continue to trade barbs on social media and in the halls of Congress for many years to come.

At this point, AOC has not responded. She is known for running away from social media battle she is sure to lose.
