If I was a New York City police officer right now I would walk off the job.
The Chair of New York City’s Council Health Committee, Mark D. Levine said if there is a spike in coronavirus cases “don’t blame the protesters. Blame racism.”
Let’s be clear about something: if there is a spike in coronavirus cases in the next two weeks, don’t blame the protesters.
Blame racism.

Levine then went on to blame police for using herding techniques to move rioters off the streets and putting people in jail.
And let’s remember that the police are increasing covid risk by:
* using tear gas
* herding demonstrators into tight spaces
* putting people in crowded jails— Mark D. Levine (@MarkLevineNYC) June 3, 2020
So are Police just supposed to continue to let this continue?
Have you ever watched the violent Crimewave in Gotham in the movie Batman? This is New York City’s version, but it’s real. @NYCMayor @BilldeBlasio must resign. If @NYGovCuomo doesn’t stop this today @realDonaldTrump send in the troops. pic.twitter.com/XeqwWjZ52h

I just want to make point that I am not posting images of the peaceful marches that occurred during the day, those people made the decision to risk being infected to stand for a cause, just like the peaceful anti-lockdown protestors. The rioters on the other hand were the cause of the tear gas and their actions alone are what put them in jail.
Of course, this is the same city that was hoarding N95 masks during the height of the pandemic and refused to give them to police.
New York’s Department of Health head Dr. Oxiris Barbot, told NYPD Chief of Department Terence Monahan, “I don’t give two rats’ asses about your cops.”
The Department of Health claimed that there were limited masks however, NYPD investigated and later found a warehouse belonging to the Department of Health stocked with N95 masks in New Jersey.
