Anti-Trump Lincoln Project Scandal Just Got Worse New Report Claims Co-Founder Allegedly Solicited A Minor

For weeks rumors have been circulating online that John Weaver cofounder of the anti-Trump, The Lincoln Project was allegedly sending men unwanted sexual messages.

The usual media suspects either ignored the allegations or downplayed them however, the New York Times released a damning report over the weekend that Weaver solicited at least 21 men and one as young as 14.

The New York Times reported that Weaver for years would send “unsolicited and sexually provocative messages online to young men, often while suggesting he could help them get work in politics, according to interviews with 21 men who received them.

From the New York Times:

His solicitations included sending messages to a 14 year old, asking questions about his body while he was still in high school and then more pointed ones after he turned 18.

Two weeks ago, it was announced that Weaver would not be returning to work for the anti-Trump super-PAC after his summer break.

In a statement to Axios Weaver said, “For far too long I’ve tried to live a life that wasn’t completely true,” he wrote in the statement.

“I was lying to myself, to my family who gave me nothing but unconditional love, and to others, causing a great deal of pain to all.

“The truth is that I am gay. And I have a wife and two kids whom I love. My inability to reconcile those two truths has led to this agonizing place,” he wrote.

Weaver claimed he viewed the exchanges as “consensual mutual conversations.”

Weaver told the Times that he was under the impression that the text messages were conceptual however many of the men took screenshots of the messages which clearly showed they did not want to have a sexual relationship with Weaver.

Weaver said, “I am so disheartened and sad that I may have brought discomfort to anyone in what I thought at the time were mutually consensual discussions. In living a deeply closeted life, I allowed my pain to cause pain for others. For that I am truly sorry to these men and everyone and for letting so many people down.”

What’s more disturbing is that conservative journalists are reporting that other members knew about Weaver predatory behavior and said nothing.

In case you weren’t aware Weaver was an advisor to longtime rhinos John McCain and John Kasich.
