NYT’s Writer Discusses Congresswoman’s Decision

As predicted, the media is already rolling out the red carpet for Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene now that she’s showing signs of friction with President Donald Trump. And in the most unintentionally hilarious twist yet, The New York Times’ Tyler Pager just compared Greene to—wait for it—Joe Biden.

Yes, that Joe Biden. The one who famously slurred through half a sentence about “unity” before turning around and calling half the country “semi-fascist,” “garbage,” and the “greatest threat to democracy.” That’s their idea of a “unifier”? As Biden himself might say: asvsffh cvbcfh ice cream cbncvb! (Yes, that’s a direct quote. From Tuesday.)

Pager’s Biden-Greene comparison had online posters howling—because it was that detached from reality. You’d think a reporter from the Times would be at least mildly self-aware before offering up a metaphor that clumsy. But no. Apparently, all it takes to earn media redemption these days is to throw a few jabs at Trump. Suddenly, the “insurrectionist” MTG becomes a beacon of balance and unity. Stunning. Brave. And totally absurd.

This is the exact playbook we warned you about. It’s the media version of “the enemy of my enemy is now my bestie.” For years, Greene was caricatured as the wild-eyed face of the Republican fringe. Now? She’s being tentatively rebranded as thoughtful, principled, maybe even presidential?

Give it a few more weeks and we’ll probably see a glowing Atlantic profile titled: “The Evolution of Marjorie: From Firebrand to Force for Democracy.”

Of course, anyone with a working memory longer than a TikTok loop knows better. This isn’t about Greene changing—this is about the press shifting gears because she dared to disagree with Trump. That’s the only credential that matters in their club.

And make no mistake: if Greene returns to defending Trump tomorrow, the media will drop her faster than Biden drops complete sentences.
