Well, here we go again—another bizarre, cultish crime spree tied to radical fringe ideology, and somehow, the mainstream media doesn’t seem all that interested. If this were some conservative-leaning militia group, you can bet CNN would be running non-stop coverage, complete with dire warnings about “far-right extremism.” But when it’s a group of transgender, vegan, Silicon Valley math geniuses turned homicidal cultists? Crickets.
So, let’s break this down because the details here are truly something else. Jack Lasota, a man who now claims to be a woman and goes by the online alias “Ziz,” was arrested this week in Maryland, along with two of his devoted followers. Lasota’s rap sheet is already impressive—wanted in multiple states, linked to at least four murders, and, oh yeah, he faked his own death in 2022 to dodge accountability. That alone should be a huge red flag, but apparently, it wasn’t enough to keep him off the streets.
The so-called “Zizian” group surrounding Lasota is a tangled mess of ultra-radical beliefs, gender ideology, and—wait for it—bizarre theories about brain hemispheres trying to kill each other. Because, sure, why not? According to police, this group could number up to 30 people, mainly young transgender women with high IQs, backgrounds in elite institutions like NASA and Google, and a history of severed family ties. The pattern is disturbingly clear: disaffected, estranged, and immersed in a cultish belief system that seems tailor-made to create unstable, violent individuals.
If you think this is just some eccentric online subculture, think again. The body count attached to the Zizians is growing. Two members, Maia Pasek and Jay Winterford, allegedly died by suicide after getting wrapped up in the group. Then came the murders: an elderly California landlord brutally stabbed 57 times, a U.S. Border Patrol agent gunned down in Vermont, and two parents shot execution-style by their own daughter—one of Lasota’s devoted followers. And yet, law enforcement and prosecutors have been frustratingly slow to take action, only making key arrests after a federal officer was killed. Funny how that works.

Speaking of that California landlord, Curtis Lind, his story reads like something out of a horror movie. A friendly, open-minded guy lets a group of trans drifters live on his property during COVID, only to have them turn violent when he dares ask for rent. They attack him, nearly killing him, and he miraculously survives—only to be assassinated two years later, allegedly to prevent him from testifying against his attackers in court. And here’s where it gets even crazier: the man who allegedly slit his throat, Maximilian Snyder, was engaged to another Zizian member. What are the odds?

The Zizians’ ideology is as disturbing as it is nonsensical. They’re obsessed with “rationalism,” but also convinced they can manipulate reality like The Matrix. They believe one side of the brain is good and the other evil—so much so that some members appear to have literally killed themselves over it. And, naturally, they’re all about secrecy, constantly changing names, pronouns, and locations to evade law enforcement. In other words, they function like a criminal enterprise but under the guise of some pseudo-intellectual, gender-obsessed utopian cult.
And yet, despite all of this, the media is strangely hesitant to cover this group with the same level of scrutiny they would for, say, a group of conservative truckers protesting vaccine mandates. No breathless panels on MSNBC warning about “LGBTQ extremism,” no urgent national conversations about the radicalization of disaffected young trans individuals. Instead, this story has been largely buried under the rug, treated as some isolated oddity rather than a deeply troubling pattern of extremism.

With Lasota finally behind bars, the big question is: how much of this twisted saga will come to light? And will we finally have a real conversation about the dangers of radical gender ideology when it intersects with cult behavior? Or, more likely, will the media just hope we all move on before we start asking uncomfortable questions?
