Rep. James Comer Reveals $5M Amount in the Biden Bribery Investigation – Watch

Rep. James Comer (R-KY), the ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, has put a dollar amount on the alleged bribery scheme involving Hunter Biden and his business partner, Devon Archer.

In a letter sent to FBI Director Christopher Wray, Comer revealed more specific terms for the bureau to find a record he demanded in a subpoena with a deadline that passed two weeks ago.

The letter is asking for the FD-1023 form, according to Comer, and it may reference some variant of “five million” and “June 30, 2020.” “These terms relate to the date on the FD-1023 form and its reference to the amount of money the foreign national allegedly paid to receive the desired policy outcome,” he wrote.

The newly uncovered date of June, 2020 is about two weeks after Ukrainian officials announced there had been a $5 million bribe aimed at ending an investigation into the founder of Burisma Holdings. This is the same Ukrainian gas company that Biden’s son, Hunter, served on the board for several years.

“To the extent there are numerous documents referencing ‘Biden’ and ‘five million’ dollar payments, please let us know promptly,” Comer wrote.

Comer’s letter is based on documents that were obtained by the Committee through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. The documents show that Hunter Biden and Archer met with CEFC China Energy executives on multiple occasions, and that the company paid Hunter Biden and Archer millions of dollars in consulting fees.

In addition to Comer’s letter, there is other evidence that supports the allegations of a bribery scheme. For example, Hunter Biden’s laptop computer contains emails that show that he was working on business deals with CEFC China Energy while his father was vice president. The emails also show that Hunter Biden and Archer were using their access to Joe Biden to benefit CEFC China Energy.

Comer told Wray the deadline for a response to his subpoena had been extended to May 30. “If the FD-1023 form is not produced by that date, the Committee will initiate contempt of Congress proceedings,” he warned.
