And just like that, we have yet another episode of Democrats Trying to Impeach Trump: The Never-Ending Series.
This time, it’s brought to you by Texas Democrat Rep. Al Green, a man who seems to believe his true calling in life is to file impeachment articles against Donald Trump every few years. Green announced on the House floor that he would once again attempt to remove the president, citing what he dramatically called “dastardly deeds proposed and dastardly deeds done.”
Now, what exactly did Trump say to warrant such an extreme reaction? Well, during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, he floated the idea that the U.S. could take over Gaza and take responsibility for cleaning up and rebuilding the war-torn region. He didn’t give specifics—because, you know, it was a suggestion, not an executive order—but that was enough for Green and his fellow Democrats to grab their impeachment playbook off the shelf and dust it off for yet another round of political theater.
Green, in his usual performative outrage, immediately went for the most hysterical interpretation possible, calling the suggestion “ethnic cleansing” and accusing Trump of throwing a match on an already volatile situation. Really? Ethnic cleansing? That’s where we’re going with this? Apparently, according to the Democratic playbook, if Trump so much as breathes in the direction of a foreign conflict, it’s an impeachable offense. But if Biden actively funds the Iranian regime (you know, the one arming Hamas), or shrugs as Hezbollah and the Houthis escalate their attacks, that’s just fine.
Green even threw in a quote from Martin Luther King Jr., because of course he did. As if suggesting a U.S. role in rebuilding Gaza is somehow a grave injustice equivalent to the civil rights struggles of the 1960s. But let’s be honest—this has nothing to do with justice and everything to do with the fact that Democrats are absolutely terrified that Trump is coming back.
And just in case anyone forgot, Green was one of the first lawmakers to push impeachment back in 2017, before Trump had even finished his first year in office. That means he’s had years to come up with a compelling reason to impeach Trump, and this is the best he’s got? A vague, off-the-cuff remark about the U.S. taking responsibility in Gaza? It’s almost as if impeachment isn’t actually about Trump’s actions at all, but just a political tool for Democrats to wield whenever they feel like it.

But hey, Green is undeterred. He declared that he is ready to “lay the foundation” for impeachment again, even if he has to do it alone. That’s the kind of grandstanding you get when someone cares more about their own headlines than actually governing. And let’s not forget that this is the same Democratic Party that spent years screeching about how impeachment is a “solemn and serious” process—until they realized it’s actually just a convenient way to try and neutralize political opponents.
And here’s the best part: Green says impeachment needs to be a “grassroots movement.” The American people have to demand it, he claims. Well, funny thing—last time I checked, the American people did make their voices heard. In 2016, they elected Trump. In 2020, even with all the media suppression and big-tech interference, Trump still pulled in 74 million votes. And now, as Biden stumbles through his presidency and Americans suffer from skyrocketing inflation, open borders, and endless foreign policy disasters, Trump’s polling numbers are only going up.
🚨 #BREAKING: Democrat Rep. Al Green has just announced he will be filing to IMPEACH President Trump for “dastardly deeds” (whatever the hell that means)
They’re so freaking mad that they’re being exposed.
Impeachment worked SO WELL last time, didn’t it Democrats? 🤣 pic.twitter.com/7tP6rQakJM

So sure, Green can try to rally his “grassroots” impeachment movement all he wants. But the reality is that the only movement that’s growing right now is the one who sent Trump back to the White House in 2025. And that, more than anything, is what’s keeping the Democrats up at night.
