Reid Takes Part In Public Religion Research Institute Panel

MSNBC’s Joy Reid is back at it again, folks. This time, she’s claiming the upcoming November 5th presidential and Congressional elections are a “litmus test” for fascism. And what exactly is her definition of fascism, you might ask? Apparently, it’s all about a “nationalistic drive for more babies” and women being subordinate to men. That’s right, according to Reid, wanting to grow your family and strengthen your country now makes you a card-carrying fascist.

The event in question was the “Democracy at a Crossroads” seminar, sponsored by the Brookings Institution and the Public Religion Research Institute, where Reid was waxing poetic about the findings from the American Values Survey. And if her commentary is any indication, it’s clear she’s leaning into scare tactics just in time for election season.

Reid went on to say, “The elements of fascism are rooted in this nationalistic drive for more babies for the state, for women to be subordinate to men, for a strongman-driven nation, and a deep sort of state-based religiosity.” I mean, come on. Since when did being pro-family and religious mean you’re halfway to goose-stepping? Reid’s argument seems to suggest that if you’re not on board with the far-left’s social agenda, you must be marching toward a dystopian dictatorship. The mental gymnastics required to link these ideas to fascism is really something to behold.

She didn’t stop there, of course. Reid also suggested that some parts of the media are leading people toward fascism. Ah, yes, because that’s the new buzzword. If you’re not towing the progressive line, you’re apparently contributing to the rise of fascism. What’s next, banning apple pie as a symbol of totalitarianism?

The best part came when she mentioned that the country had become “too soft and feminine” as part of this so-called fascist litmus test. She was particularly “alarmed” that Hispanic Protestants agreed. Is it really so shocking that people want strength in their leadership and don’t want to see their country led by an endless cycle of apologies and appeasement? Apparently, to Reid, that’s terrifying.

But then she really went off the rails, comparing discussions about immigration to Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf. Reid cited a statistic where 23 percent of Jewish respondents agreed with certain immigration concerns, and she seemed truly shocked. Look, nobody’s out here dusting off Mein Kampf, and dragging this into a conversation about Trump’s policies just shows how desperate some pundits are to make that comparison stick.

Let’s not forget Democratic strategist Aisha Mills, who, in true progressive fashion, accused Trump of supporting Nazi eugenics policy. And when a Republican strategist dared to challenge her, what did she do? Pulled out the race card, of course, saying she wasn’t going to be “lectured by some white man.” Classy. Because, apparently, if you can’t win the argument on facts, just make it about identity politics.

Reid’s real kicker, though, was when she insisted that Black Americans would “look real crazy” if they didn’t vote for Kamala Harris. Well, newsflash, Joy—more and more Black Americans are telling pollsters they’re planning to vote for Trump. Seems like Reid’s got a real problem with people thinking for themselves instead of following the Democratic Party’s script.

Reid’s entire rant is just another tired attempt to vilify anyone who doesn’t align with her progressive worldview. It’s fearmongering, plain and simple. What’s more, it shows just how out of touch some on the left have become when they think that wanting to protect your country, grow your family, and have strong leadership is somehow fascist.
