Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) is getting fed up with Democrats attempts to impeach President Trump again.
During an appearance on Fox News with Sean Hannity Graham said, “the second impeachment trial is not wearing well overtime, Democrats are in a box.”
Graham is right Democrat’s don’t have the votes to convict Trump, Justice Roberts refuses to preside over the trial, and the impeachment trial is preventing the Senate from passing COVID relief that they promised their voters.
The Senator from South Carolina also warned Democrats what will happen if they call any. witnesses.
“If you open that can of worms, we’ll want the FBI to come in and tell us about how people pre-planned this attack and what happened with the security footprint at the Capitol. You open up Pandora’s Box if you call one witness.”
Graham also pointed out that the House did not allow President Trump any due process.
“The president of the United States was impeached within 50 hours without one witness being called, and he didn’t have a lawyer,” Graham told said.
“So one of the reasons we need to make sure this thing never goes anywhere is because I don’t wanna legitimize the impeachment process used in the House.”
“This is floor [45 Senate Republican votes against an impeachment trial] not a ceiling on the votes to drop this case.
“There will be a motion to dismiss on day one of the trial. I think we’ll get more than 45 votes once we hear arguments about why it should be dismissed.
“And if we don’t get 51, we’ll go to trial.”
Graham told Hannity’s audience that if the Democrats call one witness the Republicans are going to drag this trial out for weeks if not months.
“I want your audience to know the following, They never called a witness in the House. If there’s an effort by the Democrats to call a single witness in the United States Senate — they had no record in the House — there will be delay of this trial, there will be a Pandora’s box being opened. We will want witnesses, and this thing will go for weeks if not months.”
Senator Graham has been very consistent about warning Democrats about calling witnesses during the impeachment trial. Below is a video of him during an interview with Trey Gowdy expressing that he will have the FBI testify and “tell us how people pre-planned this attack.”
The second impeachment attempt is the Democrats making, they know they are going to lose; they don’t have the votes.
Graham has issued an ultimatum get this ridiculous trial over quickly or we are going to draw this out into and make you wish you never tried to impeach President Trump.
