That Taco Keeps Coming Back Up…Dr. Jill Biden’s Political Indigestion

Montezuma’s revenge seems to be affecting First Lady Jill Biden and her team. That taco line just keeps coming back with some real political indigestion.

People are heading toward the exit doors all over the Biden administration. President Biden lost his senior-most communications person Kate Bedingfield earlier this month. And Vice President Harris just can’t keep her team of speech writers and PR people together.

People are taking the fall for bumbling Biden and for the wilting word salads coming from Harris. But now we have lost a key member of Jill Biden’s team.

Michael LaRosa started serving Dr. Biden as her spokesperson back in 2019 during the campaign. He was appointed press secretary in January of 2021. And in September, he was also made a special assistant to the President.

“For nearly three years, from the campaign to the White House, Michael has brought an encyclopedic knowledge of politics and media to my team as my spokesperson and adviser,” the first lady told CNN. “On a small team, loyalty and friendship are lifelong — we will miss Michael. However, we are excited for him to begin a new chapter in his career.”

Now, LaRosa is resigning. He posted this on his Twitter account, “The @FLOTUS team has become and will remain my family and I am thankful for their constant mentoring, support, and friendship.”

This comes right on the heels of the First Lady’s famous “taco” tribute where she compared San Antonio Hispanics to breakfast food during a Texas speech where the topic of the day was “Latinx IncluXion.”

Dr. Biden got an immense amount of backlash over the comments from Hispanic Groups and GOP leaders like Sens. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio.

But she got even more criticism for letting LaRosa give her apology instead of speaking for herself.

That has caused some to speculate whether LaRosa was the one who wrote the famous line.
