They want to defund the police and trample on the 2nd Amendment but guess who is paying big bucks for their own security?
Documents have shown that Rep. Maxine Waters wanted a police escort while she was Minnesota when she told protestors that if Chauvin isn’t found guilty they should be “more confrontational.”
“We’ve got to stay in the streets, and we’ve got to demand justice,” she urged the crowd, who earlier had been chanting: “No good cops in a racist system!” “F–K your curfew!” and “No justice, no peace!”
“We’re looking for a guilty verdict” in the Chauvin case, Waters said. “And if we don’t, we cannot go away, we’ve got to get more confrontational.”
Documents obtained by Townhall show Waters requested police escort in and out of the areas citing there was a “moderate risk factor.”
Members of the “The Squad” some of whom want to abolish police all together are paying big bucks to be protected.
From the Daily Caller:
Democrats New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar, Massachusetts Rep. Ayanna Pressley and Missouri Rep. Cori Bush each spent thousands of dollars on their own security. The payments were described in the FEC filings as either “security” or “security services.”
“Defunding police means defunding police,” Ocasio-Cortez said in a statement. “It does not mean budget tricks or funny math. It does not mean moving school police officers from the NYPD budget to the Department of Education’s budget so the exact same police remain in schools.”
“Affluent white communities already live in a world where they choose to fund youth, health, housing etc more than they fund police,” Ocasio-Cortez said.
Yup, and affluent congresswoman as well seem to be able to pay for their own security as well.
Recently, Detroit police chief, James Craig said he would “love” to see Rep. Rashida Tlaib step down after her calls to abolish police departments.
“I’d love to see her resign, I’d throw her a goodbye party,” Chief James Craig told the Fox 2 TV station in Detroit of Tlaib (D-Mich.) on Sunday. “Let her go. … Let me just say this, when you talk about abolishing police, incarceration, you talk about safe cities – what do you think the residents in Detroit want?”
“If I made comments on par with hers, they’d be calling for my resignation,” he added.
“I will not let someone like a Tlaib or a Maxine Waters paint our profession with a broad brush. Are you aware of what the other US rep said as recent as yesterday? You know what she said in response to Brooklyn Center? … ‘Get more confrontational,’” Craig said.
“I was the first chief in the nation that came out and denounced the murderous cop who killed George Floyd,” he said. “We support free speech, we support social justice, but are we encouraging, we make reckless statements like that, to create criminal behavior?”
