Tulsi Gabbard was formally a Democratic congresswoman from Hawaii and she ran for the presidency in the 2020 election. She announced on Tuesday that she is officially leaving the Democratic Party and her rationale scorched the demographic landscape.
This shift is not surprising as the Party continues to creep to the left. Gabbard, along with other moderates like her, has become increasingly sidelined. She has been a frequent critic of the Biden Administration along with others in her Party.
What is a little surprising is the way that she exited. Gabbard posted a video (you can watch it below) where she said that the Democratic Party was an “elitist cabal of warmongers” bent on dividing Americans and erasing our fundamental rights.
“I can no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party that’s under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers who are driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue and stoking anti-white racism, who actively work to undermine our God-given freedoms that our enshrined in our Constitution,” she said, “who are hostile to people of faith and spirituality, who demonize the police but protect criminals at the expensive of law-abiding Americans, who believe in open borders, who weaponize the national security state to go after their political opponents, and, above all, who are dragging us closer to nuclear war,” she explained.

Then Gabbard challenged others to follow her lead.
“I’m calling on my fellow commonsense, independent-minded Democrats to join me in leaving the Democratic Party,” she continued. “If you can no longer stomach the direction that so-called woke Democratic Party ideologues are taking our country, I invite you to join me.”
She did not make it clear which political party she will now associate with. Gabbard is no longer a Democrat, but she did not say she is now a Republican.
