Well, kudos to Sen. JD Vance for saying what everyone in Springfield, Ohio, has been thinking but the media won’t touch with a ten-foot pole. CNN’s Kaitlan Collins tried to get cute, asking about the rumors swirling around the Haitian migrants in Springfield, where folks are talking about pets going missing, with whispers that ducks, geese, and even dogs might be ending up on dinner plates. The media, of course, immediately dismissed this as just another “myth,” but let’s not kid ourselves—if geese are fair game, who’s to say pets aren’t next?

Vance, true to form, leaned into the story, taking the opportunity to spotlight the chaos brought on by Biden’s open-border disaster. Whether or not every wild claim holds water, the fact remains that Springfield is drowning under the weight of a massive migrant influx—20,000 Haitians in a town of just 58,000. That’s nearly half the population being displaced by migrants, and the strain on resources is real. Healthcare costs are through the roof, communicable diseases like HIV and TB are spreading, and crime has spiked. But sure, let’s focus on the “cat memes,” right, Kamala?

The real scandal is how long it took for the media to notice Springfield’s nightmare. Residents like Diana Daniels are sounding the alarm, calling their once tight-knit town a “dystopian nightmare” as they struggle to access basic services. The local health center is swamped, the Social Security office is gridlocked, and working-class folks are being left in the dust while taxpayer dollars get funneled into cleaning up a mess they didn’t create. Daniels and others have been pleading with city officials for help, only to be met with accusations of racism. It’s not about race, though—it’s about culture and the fact that Springfield’s infrastructure simply can’t handle this tidal wave of new residents.

Then there’s Anthony Harris, another local who didn’t mince words: these migrants are causing chaos. Cars are getting flipped in the streets, buildings are being hit, and the town’s leadership is nowhere to be found. While city officials sit in their comfy chairs, Springfield’s residents are left to deal with the wreckage. It’s a far cry from the community they knew just a few years ago.

And where’s the federal government in all this? Nowhere. Ohio’s Republican governor, Mike DeWine, has stepped in with $2.5 million in resources, but that’s a drop in the bucket compared to what’s needed. DeWine himself pointed out the obvious—the federal government is the one responsible for this disaster, yet they’ve left local communities like Springfield holding the bag. Biden and Harris have turned a blind eye to the devastation their policies have caused, only paying attention when it becomes politically inconvenient.

At the end of the day, Vance and Trump are right to bring this story to the forefront. The media might want to brush it under the rug, but the people of Springfield are living this nightmare every day. They deserve answers—and more importantly, they deserve action. It’s about time someone called out the Biden-Harris administration’s immigration policies for what they are: a complete and utter failure. Bravo, Sen. Vance, for keeping the spotlight where it belongs.
