You have got to be kidding me!
The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court has shocked many over who they decided will be reforming the court system after the Inspector General revealed abuses by the FBI in the Trump Russia Hoax.
David Kris a former Obama administration lawyer who has appeared numerous times on MSNBC, the Rachel Maddow and has written many papers approving of how the FBI handled the Trump Russia hoax has been selected for the job.
House Intelligence Committee ranking member Devin Nunes, (R-California) told the Daily Caller that Kris’s appointment was “shocking” and inexplicable.”
While speaking with Fox News Nunes said, “It’s hard to imagine a worse person the FISC could have chosen outside [James] Comey, [Andy] McCabe, or [Adam] Schiff. It’s a ridiculous choice. The FBI lied to the FISC, and to help make sure that doesn’t happen again, the FISC chose an FBI apologist who denied and defended those lies. The FISC is setting its own credibility on fire.”
While appearing on Fox New’s “Sunday Morning Futures” Nunes told Maria Bartiromo that Kris tried to discredit the memo that he wrote in 2018 that was found to be one hundred percent true thanks to the Inspector Genral report.
Of all the people in the swamp … this is the guy that you come up with?” Nunes asked. “The guy that was accusing me of federal crimes? The guy that was defending the dirty cops at the FBI? … The court must be trying to abolish itself. There is long-term damage.”
President Trump slammed the FISA court in response and said, “You can’t make this up!” Trump wrote. “David Kris, a highly controversial former DOJ official, was just appointed by the FISA [Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act] Court to oversee reforms to the FBI’s surveillance procedures. Zero credibility. THE SWAMP!”

Kris is a hyperpartisan that went on the Rachel Maddow show to discredit Nunes’s memo back in 2018. However, the Inspector General report revealed that the memo and House Republicans were right.
Here are more examples of Kris’s hyperpartisanship:
With @Maddow discussing “asymmetric political warfare” as Trump & Co. push for further releases of Page FISAs knowing FBI can’t do so without risking compromising investigation, sources and methods. https://t.co/qItZC5WgKD

I suspect that POTUS and his closest advisors are and should be worried that, depending on the evidence, Mueller’s next steps will make it feel like the walls are closing in. 6/6

These FBI errors weren’t political, the IG concluded, but neither are they acceptable, particularly in an investigation involving a presidential campaign. 9/9
