First Lady Jill Biden decided to visit a pop-up vaccine site located at the Ole Smokey Distillery in Nashville with country music star Brad Paisley. She thought it would be ok to slam the state over poor vaccination rates and that’s when she got booed.
She laughed as she said Tennessee “still has a way to go” on accomplishing vaccination targets noting that 3 in 10 Tennesseans are vaccinated which prompted boos from the crowd.
“Well, you’re booing yourselves,” she said in spite.
Biden also said that the only way to return to normal life is for Americans to get vaccinated.
“You know what the vaccines mean for your family and your friends and your neighbors,” she said.
“You know they are saving lives. You know the vaccines are the only way to get back to the open mics and the music festivals and the concerts that make this town so very special.”
Only a few dozen people showed up to the event to receive a vaccination dose and most were there to see Paisley preform.
The Biden Administration has admitted they failed to reach their goal of 70 percent of all Americans receiving at least one dose of a COVID vaccine by July 4th.
As Biden tours the country the other side of the administration is taking away incentives for people to vaccinate. According to a CNN report the Biden run CDC is considering imposing new restrictions, including for those vaccinated because of the Delta variant.
Two weeks after Governor Gavin Newsom ended a statewide mask mandate Los Angeles County is now imposing an indoor mask – even for those vaccinated – until they “understand” the Delta variant.
From KTLA:
The L.A. County public health department suggested that people wear masks when inside grocery or retail stores, as well as theaters and family entertainment centers and workplaces when people’s vaccination statuses are not known.
“Until we better understand how and to who the Delta variant is spreading, everyone should focus on maximum protection with minimum interruption to routine as all businesses operate without other restrictions, like physical distancing and capacity limits,” the department said in a news release.
According to the Biden run CDC cases and deaths are at an all time low. The USA’s 7-day case average is 11,842 and the COVID positivity rate in the country is 1.7%.
