Republican State Lawmaker, Nathan Dahm from Oklahoma is not backing down after he cracked a joke at Vice President Kamala Harris while speaking with a local TV station.
Dahm was giving further details over his bill to ban paper straws which was sort of a joke as well. His April 22 press released read:
“Hatred of paper straws is nearly universal. I’ve never met a single person who enjoys using a paper straw. They fall apart and turn to mush quicker than Joe Biden trying to string together a coherent sentence. They collapse like Mitt Romney under pressure, and even with Kamala Harris…well, never mind.”
Today in honor of #EarthDay I filed a bill to ban paper straws. Enjoy my press release on why. Here’s an excerpt:
“You have states, like California, where the leftist loons have banned plastic straws because they saw a video on social media about a sea turtle… pic.twitter.com/t7pYTob5GK

While speaking with a reporter Dham said, “You can’t use a paper straw for a milkshake but maybe Kamala Harris could because of her vast experience, maybe she would be able to get that accomplished.”
The reporter pressed Dahm over why he would crack that kind of joke to which the state senator said he was being an “equal opportunist” by also mocking Biden and Romeny. Dahm also told the reporter they could “figure out how she got trajection into politics.”

Senator Nathan Dahm isn’t backing down from the criticism and defended himself, writing that he has no plans to be “politically correct” and has been told his jokes “are hilarious.”
BREAKING: if you think I’m going to be “politically correct” you need to realize a few things.
1) you obviously know nothing about me
2) you’re in for a bad time
3) I’ve been assured my jokes are hilarious
4) your emotional opinions are irrelevant— Nathan Dahm (@NathanDahm) April 23, 2021
