As if things are not chaotic enough at our southern border because of the insane policies of the Biden Administration, it was just reported this week that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is underreporting the number of illegal aliens released into the country without any tracking technology by more than 18,000%.
This information has come from an internal document exclusively obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.
ICE released the document to people within the organization including ICE Director Tae Johnson, some other key officials in the agency, and leaders from various nonprofit organizations. These people had gathered at an event focused on the “Alternatives to Detention” program within ICE.
This program was put into place in 2004 to monitor illegal aliens released into the U.S. interior with ankle bracelets and cell phones. ICE released to those attending the event that there are 49,459 illegal aliens that aren’t monitored with any tracking equipment as of Nov. 14. But according to ICE’s website, it says that there are just 266 as of November 19. That is a major contradiction.
The almost 50,000 illegal aliens mean that they are under-reporting at a massive 18,000%. When asked for a comment about the discrepancy, ICE refused to offer one.
A former ICE officer with knowledge about this particular “Alternatives to Detention” program told the media, “The Biden administration is hostile to transparency, and when it does publish data, it refuses to respond to media inquiries regarding significant discrepancies like this. Likely, ICE communication staffers are having a lot of difficulty defending this administration’s chaotic and lawless policies.”
There was another person familiar with the program who also confirmed the accuracy of the number released at the event.
This program was put into place in 2004 so that it could be a “flight-mitigation tool” used when illegal aliens were released into the country while they are waiting for court proceedings that might take several years before they happened, according to the document ICE released.
This is just one more program that has failed miserably under the present White House administration.
