What One Liberal Group Just Did To A Liberal Judge Is Exactly What They Wanted Republicans Investigated For Just A Few Months Ago

We are about to enter into a very crazy world of double standards.

What Democrats are now doing what they screamed was illegal and unconstitutional just a few months ago.

Now that the Democrats have secured a majority in the Senate the liberal group Demand Justice is demanding that Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer retire.

“Justice Breyer’s service on the Court has been remarkable, and history will remember him even more fondly if he ends up playing a critical role in ensuring the appointment of the first Black woman to the Court,” said Brian Fallon, the group’s co-founder and executive director. “Timing his retirement in the coming year would guarantee that opportunity, and it would be wise to do so because the window may prove a narrow one.”

The progressive group wants Breyer, 82 to retire so Biden can install a younger progressive judge.

Last month Breyer told Slate, “I mean, eventually I’ll retire, sure I will, and it’s hard to know exactly when.”

Former South Carolina Representative who has also worked in several presidential campaigns posted that if Democrats win the majority in the Senate, “I need Justice Breyer to announce retirement at 12:01pm on January 20th.”

However, just a few months ago Demand Justice was in court trying to stall the nomination of a conservative judge because they claimed Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell forced an older judge to retire.

“The hearing on Walker’s nomination should not go forward until we know the truth about what ethical lines Mitch McConnell crossed to get Walker this seat,” Demand Justice said in a statement. “McConnell should come clean about whether and when he contacted Judge Thomas Griffith prior to his sudden retirement.”

During his term in office, President Trump worked with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and changed the judiciary. They successfully flipped the 9th Circuit Court and confirmed three new judges to the Supreme Court.
